Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute

Rick, Bob, and Ken played a great show at Kilroy's that night.  The house was full and many people from the Yardrock days were there on the dance floor.  JohnO, Joe, you know who you are!

Blues At The Next Page Released

Recorded live at The  Next Page Cafe in Weymouth, MA in February 2006,  Rick has selected his favorites and presents them for you to enjoy in this latest cd release.  Rick is an outstanding live entertainer and the recording makes every effort to make you feel like you were there that night.  The house was packed so maybe you WERE there that night!  Either way, look for the cd next time you're out to a Rick gig.

In the land of the Euro, October 18 - 24,  or thereabouts.

For those that thought that Rick was just hiding out at home for the last week or so, we offer the following "proof" of his vacation.  Now they say that you can do anything with Photoshop these days, but this is the real deal.  Note the "odd metal building" in the background.  The word is that the coffee was good, the food was good,  and that the time was just too short.  Sounds like the description of a great trip.

CD Release Party at Chan's in Woonsocket, RI

Doug James and Sax Gordon, along with some of the region's finest musicians, put on a superlative show at Chan's tonight.  Collaborating on their new disc was Matt McCabe on piano, Marty Ballou on bass, and Mark Teixeira on drums.  Contributing on guitar was Mike DiBari, Duke Robillard, and Ricky 'King' Russell.

This was just a wonderful gathering of some of our region's finest musicians, guys that really appeared to be having a great time on stage while providing a top shelf evening of entertainment.  A music critic I am not, so let's just say that it was simply a fantastic evening.

Doug James has his cds available in Duke's Store located at Duke Robillard's website.  This is a great new disk from Doug and Gordon as well as providing another whole wonderful frontier for Rick Russell's blues fans to explore as well.  This is music with intellect, without lacking passion and energy.  Jazz for Blues fans maybe?

Check out this great new release when you get a chance!   Stay alert for the possibility of additional gigs from this great group of musicians.

Yes that means you, Jos, Herman,  and the great fans in Belgium!

See a complete track list of the new cd on Doug "Mr Low" Jame's web site.
